Job Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a fixed‑term post of 12 months from August 2026, 40 hours per week, based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), Glasgow. The post will commence in Aug 26 July 27. It is not part of the National recruitment process for Specialty Training in Gastroenterology and is not recognised for training by NHS Education for Scotland.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will take full part in the medical mid‑tier daytime and on‑call rota (50% rota banding).
Qualifications
- Preferable possession of MRCP(UK) or equivalent.
- Appropriate experience in General Medicine and Gastroenterology.
- Planning to continue a career in Gastroenterology or a related specialty.
- Doctors at level IMT3 or above looking to consolidate specialist training are encouraged to apply.
- GMC registration and a license to practice medicine in the UK.
- Completion of a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date; if not, a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) may be required.
