What will you be doing!
- Developing, maintaining and communicating schedules and timelines for the annual planning cycle:
- Developing a schedule for the annual planning cycle.
- Communicating and updating the annual planning cycle schedule.
- Ensuring plans development adheres to the schedule.
- Holding the Annual Program of Work and Budget (APWB) planning kick-off:
- Scheduling and organizing kickoff meeting with all APWB stakeholders. Ensuring the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) list is accurate and up to date.
- Collaborating with peers and others in Finance to develop the annual kick-off presentation materials.
- Supporting the development of the APWB:
- Developing correspondence and direction.
- Following up with Single points of contact on submissions.
- Reviewing and editing documents with an eye to consistency and “one voice”.
- Continuous Improvement/Innovation:
- Identifying and recommending the continuous improvement of performance through assessment feedback and review of the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Identifying and proposing new graphics, designs and visual approaches for new and existing plans, reports, presentations and communications.
- Providing input on corporate scale change.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What We Are Looking For
- Education
- A university degree/college diploma in economics, finance, business or a related discipline or the equivalent experience gained through a minimum of at least five years of comprehensive work experience in a business environment.
- Experience
- Experience in reviewing strategic issues/topics and developing and writing business plans, reports, presentation packages, briefing notes and annotated agendas.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Has a sound understanding of the interaction of operations, projects and supporting groups to fulfill site missions.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills to influence and direct stakeholders in all areas of the organization.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze processes and impacts, provide recommendations and develop solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Demonstrated excellent organization, planning and execution skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to achieve results not as an individual but as part of a collaborative team.
- A high working level knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio and a working knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Exhibits a strong strategic perspective, with an outside-the-box mentality that offers alternative viewpoints and solutions to existing practices in a respectful, constructive manner.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills - must possess a professional attitude and be able to behave in a professional manner suited to the situation.
- Strong leadership abilities, work ethic, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work effectively within the Strategy and Corporate Planning team, but at times independently, or in cross-functional teams.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- Flexibility to work extended hours with limited notice.

Location: Hybrid
Located in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, our Chalk River site offers a beautiful natural setting with forests, lakes, and wildlife right at your doorstep. Surrounding communities such as Deep River, Petawawa, and Pembroke provide access to excellent recreation and a outstanding quality of life.
Please note: This is a hybrid position, with a combination of remote work and onsite presence at our Chalk River Laboratory, Ontario.
