We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our development and investment team. This role is ideal for a strong financial thinker who understands the full picture behind the numbers — someone who can interpret, question, and analyze financial data rather than simply process it.

The successful candidate will support multiple development entities and investment structures, working closely with senior leadership and interacting with sophisticated investors. This position requires confidence, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of financial reporting fundamentals. This is an onsite role, 5 days a week, located in the GTA.

Project & Development Accounting

- Maintain full-cycle accounting for development and investment entities
- Record journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Monitor project costs, capitalized expenses, and funding allocations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow)

Capital & Investment Management

- Maintain investor capital accounts with precision
- Prepare and process capital calls and distributions
- Track equity contributions and debt funding
- Assist with waterfall calculations and investor reporting
- Communicate financial updates clearly and confidently to investors and stakeholders

Financial Reporting & Compliance

- Prepare HST returns and other statutory filings
- Develop detailed monthly reporting packages with variance analysis
- Prepare year‑end working papers and support external accountants during audits




- Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of all accounts
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial processes

Qualifications

- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in real estate development, investment, or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of how financial statements interconnect (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow)
- Experience maintaining capital accounts and preparing capital calls
- Advanced reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Solid day‑to‑day accounting experience including journal entries, bank recs, HST filings, and month‑end close
- Experience preparing year‑end working papers
- Strong Excel skills and financial modeling capability
