Description & Requirements
Respawn, founded in 2010, creates next‑level entertainment experiences for players around the world, producing titles such as Apex Legends, Titanfall 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
This is a 9‑month Temporary Full Time opportunity working Hybrid in Los Angeles (CA), Redwood City (CA), Kirkland (WA), Austin (TX), Orlando (FL), Vancouver (BC) or Edmonton (AB).
We are looking for a passionate Cinematic Technical Implementation Designer to focus on cinematic integration, who will work with design leadership, artists, code, and other departments to create an incredible experience for our players.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and maintain Sequencer‑driven cinematics into levels and seamless in‑gameplay cinematic moments.
- Troubleshoot and fix bugs related to cinematics.
- Construct NPC animation states to ensure seamless transition before and after a cinematic.
- Create and edit blueprints to successfully trigger level sequences.
- Capture environment meshes from Unreal Engine and export to FBX format to support Cinematic Teams.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in the games industry working as a designer, shipping at least one title.
- A team‑player mindset, understanding the importance of collaboration, and able to communicate effectively with all disciplines and departments.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5,
particularly Sequencer and implementation workflows.
- Proficiency in at least one animation tool (e.g., Maya, Motion Builder, Blender).
- Experience with text‑based scripting, visual scripting, and/or programming languages.
Compensation & Perks
Pay ranges vary by location. For this role, pay ranges from:
- British Columbia (Vancouver) $91,100 – $126,900 CAD
- Washington (Seattle) $96,400 – $126,400 USD
In addition to salary, the role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, sick time, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) for temporary full‑time employees. Canadian employees receive vacation, sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage.
