Job Posting: Platform Engineer (x3)
Location: Toronto or Waterloo (Hybrid – 3 days/week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Start Date: May 1, 2026
End Date: November 1, 2026 (with strong potential for full time conversion)
Rate: $80–$90/hr
Urgency: Immediate hiring (interview slots being scheduled)
Role Overview
We are seeking multiple Platform Engineers to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure environments. The role focuses heavily on Azure cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and data platform integration using Databricks.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including security, architecture, and DevOps to ensure robust production systems and seamless cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage production-grade cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
- Ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and reliability of cloud environments
- Manage and integrate Databricks environments for data processing and analytics
- Build infrastructure automation using Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code)
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitOps, Jenkins, and scripting (Shell/Groovy)
- Respond to and resolve production issues with minimal downtime impact
- Collaborate with security, risk, and architecture teams to align with enterprise standards
- Manage tasks and workflows in JIRA and participate in agile ceremonies
- Continuously learn and adopt emerging cloud and DevOps technologies
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years in Azure cloud infrastructure management and deployment
- 3+ years of experience with Databricks
- 4+ years of experience with Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code)
- 4+ years of experience with GitOps, Jenkins, and scripting (Shell/Groovy)
- 2+ years of Windows system administration
- 2+ years of Linux system administration
- 1+ year of networking experience
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, IAM, and security controls
- Experience with disaster recovery / business continuity planning
- Exposure to AI / GenAI platforms and data analytics workloads
- Experience in enterprise data platform environments
Soft Skills
- Solid production troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in structured Agile environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Ability to deliver under tight timelines and constraints
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
