The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing activities to ensure alignment with business goals. This includes reviewing production schedules, developing policies and procedures that improve productivity, ensuring consistent quality, and proactively resolving production challenges. The Operations Manager drives improvements in throughput and internal processes with the objective of reducing costs and maximizing customer satisfaction.
Manufacturing & Operational Leadership
- Oversee and support all manufacturing functions, including Production, Metal Shop, and Warehouse operations.
- Provide strong leadership for plant initiatives and manufacturing improvement efforts.
- Support long-term strategic plans and ensure production procedures are effectively implemented across the facility.
- Improve production line efficiencies while enhancing quality and reducing waste.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Process Improvement & Productivity
- Select and support capital equipment purchases, including business case development, budget justification, installation, and start‑up coordination.
- Conduct time studies and develop production standards to improve operational effectiveness.
- Create and optimize plant and process flow layouts to increase productivity.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, eliminating non‑value‑added activities, and updating procedures as needed.
- Enhance and sustain 5S practices and overall housekeeping standards.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all manufacturing processes meet or exceed internal and external quality expectations.
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards across all relevant procedures and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety legislation and maintain a strong safety culture across the plant.
- Promote safe behavior and reinforce an injury‑free environment through personal example and team coaching.
Financial & Business Responsibilities
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide accurate cost analysis and operational information to senior leadership.
- Support initiatives that improve production performance and cost efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisors/Team Leads, and Metal Shop Supervisors.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and create shift schedules that support production and budget requirements.
- Participate in hiring activities, including interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and training to foster a high‑performance work culture.
- Administer disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring fairness and adherence to policy.
- Promote a positive team environment and collaborate effectively with members of the management team.

Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Education
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
Required Skills
