Agilus is recruiting for an Junior Mechanical Design Engineer in the oil & gas sector in Sarnia, Ontario.
ARLANXEO Sarnia is seeking a Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their CapEX Project Team as a resident contractor.You will receive guidance from the two CapEX Senior Mechanical Design Engineers as you develop your skill set / gain experience and become independent in completing design deliverables.
Total rewards:
- $40.00 - $65.00 hourly
- One Year of contract position, possible of extension
- Monday to Friday
A typical day:
- Prepare mechanical Engineering manhour estimates.
- Assist with project schedule preparation, Project manager develops / updates schedule with inputs from lead Engineers.
- Participate / contribute during hazards and operability reviews, PHAs, HAZOPs, process safety checklists reviews.
- Prepare mechanical construction work packages during detail Engineering, Perform stress analysis of static equipment, identify required piping supports, Prepare datasheets for rotating equipment.
- Co-ordinate TSSA registrations, Piping addendums / CRNs for both CapEX and Maintenance groups.
- Provide construction support, respond to mechanical field RFIs, Assist with project closure, Ensure As-Built document preparation by mechanical drafters Initiate spare parts creation / modification / deletion
- Assist with developing / revising in-house mechanical Engineering standards, Maintain Engineering stock catalog. All pipe + fitting materials used in operating plants, Interact with a multi-discipline Engineer & designer project team Focus on maintaining / building Production Plant relationships.
Successful candidates will have:
- Engineering Undergraduate Degree, NOTE: must be working towards P.Eng license in Ontario.
- 1 to 5 years practical project experience.
- Static equipment, Piping / vessel specifications, ASME B31.3 and Pressure Piping Code, Welding and join design, fit-for-service assessments, Caesar II / Compress software for stress analysis.
- Rotating equipment :Pumps / compressors / fans
- HVAC equipment, NOTE: some familiarity is acceptable
- Mechanical material requisitions, Construction Work Packages (CWPs), NOTE: relevant co-op work term experience is acceptable, Familiarity with Operating Procedures / Maintenance Plans.
- Ability to interact / communicate with all stakeholders of the project team, both written and verbal, Ability to manage multiple complicated tasks with under pressure.
- Familiarity within the oil and gas industry (EPCM) is preferred, Experience in brownfield design is preferred, Solid computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, SAP, various databases.
