Job Summary
Reporting to the VP, People & Revenue Growth, the Business Development Representative supports revenue growth by identifying, screening, and qualifying prospective clients before passing opportunities to the sales team. The role works closely with Sales and Marketing to strengthen the top of the revenue funnel and ensure high-quality prospects enter the pipeline.
Responsibilities And Tasks
- Research and identify potential prospects aligned with the company’s target market.
- Screen inbound and outbound leads and qualify opportunities before they are assigned to Sales.
- Conduct initial outreach and discovery conversations to assess client needs.
- Schedule qualified meetings and coordinate handoffs to Sales representatives.
- Collaborate with Marketing to follow up on campaign-generated leads.
- Log and track all activities in our CRM (HubSpot).
- Support prospect engagement activities, including coordinating warehouse tours with local team members to provide customer with “what it looks like to work with PiVAL”.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience And Skills Required
- Demonstrated experience in freight brokerage sales, with a strong desire for professional growth
- At least two years of sales experience, specifically in the 3PL industry
- Outgoing, “hunter” personality
- Hardworking, entrepreneurial, accountable, and proactive
- Highly organized and detail-oriented,
with excellent follow-up skills
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written
- Strategic Thinker

- Critical thinking
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Excellent MS Office and other software proficiency
- Proven ability to multi-task effectively
- Knowledge of a CRM database (HubSpot)
