This is a new role to add to an existing team. This will be a hybrid role and be based in our downtown office 3 days per week with some project office visits. Must be living locally to the Toronto area.This position will be to work on projects for Rail transit infrastructures (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars).ResponsibilitiesAssist our clients in the conceptual design definition, helping in technical feasibility and constructability.Lead a structural team for the design process.Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner.Present the alternatives,



and the design to the contractor and the client.Review technical documentation and identify critical defects.Provide guidance to modelers for the BIM model and drawing production.Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes.Develop structural details and construction plans.Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction.QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil Structural engineeringMaster's degree in Structural EngineeringRegistered P. Eng. in Ontario is mandatoryRegistered OIQ in Quebec is an assetMinimum 13-15 years relevant experience in structural design and rail & transit projectsExperience with complex construction projects involving P3, Infrastructure and/or underground LRT and subwayExpertise in reinforced concrete structuresDesirable knowledge of pre-stress concrete and precast constructionDesirable knowledge of steel structureDesirable knowledge of underground structures, geostructures (Support of Excavation, walls, invert slabs, cut-and-cover structures)Technical competency in the design of structural building systemsKnowledge and understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000 and Robot Structural Analysis is expectedExperience with Microsoft Office, Navisworks, Bluebeam desirableKnowledge and understanding of relevant design standards and codesProject management and coordination skills with a strong ability to provide leadership and motivation to project structural teams. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment and will be expected to demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the TeamAbility to confidently relate with all levels of staff and clientele - Internal and ExternalEffective communication in English (Spanish and or French an asset)#J-18808-Ljbffr
