We’re looking for a Pension & Benefits Specialist to join a collaborative HR team, supporting the delivery and evolution of benefits and retirement programs across a national workforce. This role is ideal for someone who brings true subject matter expertise in Total Rewards, not just administration, and is comfortable operating as a trusted advisor to the business.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

- Oversee the administration of employee benefits and pension programs, ensuring alignment with company policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a go-to resource for HR, Payroll, and employees on all benefits-related matters, providing clear guidance and timely support
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to resolve complex claims, coverage questions, and unique cases
- Contribute to the design, enhancement, and continuous improvement of benefits and retirement programs
- Support annual processes such as benefits enrolment, pension reporting, audits, and year-end activities
- Prepare and submit required pension filings and ensure all compliance obligations are met within deadlines
- Review and validate vendor invoices and reporting for accuracy
- Assist with system implementations, upgrades,

and testing from a benefits and pension perspective
- Develop communications, training materials, and presentations related to Total Rewards programs
- Collaborate closely with the broader HR team to support ongoing initiatives and projects

What You Bring

- 5+ years of experience in pension and benefits, ideally within a complex or multi-site organization
- Strong knowledge of Canadian benefits programs, including both broad-based and executive offerings
- Solid understanding of pension regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Experience working within a Total Rewards function is a strong asset
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as SAP or similar systems
- Progress toward or completion of a professional designation (e.g., CEBS) is considered an asset
- Ability to interpret and apply technical information to real-world scenarios with sound judgment
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive information
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
