We’re looking for a part-time HR Generalist (4 days per week) to join our People & Training team at our Vancouver Home Office for a 6-month contract.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Training, this role will support leaders across the organization on a wide range of people matters — from employee relations and recruitment to immigration processes and people initiatives that help our teams excel. This is an opportunity to work closely with leaders across the business, helping them navigate people matters, find great talent, and build strong teams. We’re a team-oriented and supportive team that moves at a fast pace, taking ownership, pitching in where needed, and working together to deliver results that support our restaurants and our guests. This position is ideal for those early in their HR careers looking to build their skills and gain valuable experience working with a high-profile company, as well as for anyone interested in stepping back from a full-time schedule for a while.
This is a primarily in-office role based at our Vancouver Home Office. After an initial orientation period working in the office four days per week, the role may work remotely one of the four days each week.
Key responsibilities include:
Employee & Labour Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource to managers on day-to-day people questions and workplace matters
- Support internal investigations and help resolve employee relations concerns in a thoughtful, fair, and practical way
- Assist leaders with documentation including performance discussions, letters of expectation, and discipline letters
- Respond to employee inquiries and help ensure policies and practices are applied consistently and appropriately
Recruitment Support
- Support recruitment for Home Office roles from posting through selection
- Partner with department leaders to understand hiring needs and help attract strong candidates
- Draft job descriptions and postings and coordinate candidate sourcing
- Screen applicants, conduct phone screens and interviews, and support the selection process
- Prepare offer letters in collaboration with People & Training leadership and department heads
- Assist with onboarding process within the Home Office
- Assist with Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA) and related permit applications
- Assist with monitoring job bank responses
- Support employees with immigration processes including work permits, visa renewals and permanent residency related documentation
Training & Development
- Provide support on training initiatives as needed, including learning management system elements and training resources for new programs and concepts
Data, Digital & Analytics
- Help evolve systems and tools, including appropriate use of AI, to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Leverage digital platforms to simplify processes and improve execution
- Assist in reviewing people metrics and identifying trends and opportunities
Projects & Other Support
- Contribute to People & Training initiatives that support our business priorities and a high-performance culture
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and provide general HR support across the organization
What You Bring
Experience & Background
- 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a multi-site private‑sector environment
- Hospitality or retail experience is a strong asset
- Experience supporting both corporate and operational teams is helpful
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and HR compliance requirements
- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience as a trainer would be a huge advantage

Compensation
This 4‑day per week role offers an anticipated salary of $60,000–$64,000 annually , which is equivalent to $75,000–$80,000 on a full‑time basis.
The role also includes extended health and dental benefits and employee assistance program coverage.
