Data Integrity Analyst, Surgical Program (NSQIP)

Role Overview

You will work with our Surgical Program and the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP), ensuring accurate data capture and reporting.

Employment Details

- Employment Status: Permanent Full Time
- Hours: Monday to Friday (9 am – 5 pm)
- Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site
- Reporting To: Manager, Bariatrics

Responsibilities

- Complete health record audits using ACS NSQIP tools in accordance with ACS protocols.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data to support policy and procedure development.
- Collect pre‑operative, operative, and post‑operative data components.
- Evaluate data accuracy and completeness, including compliance with internal and external coding standards.
- Demonstrate competency in CPT and ICD‑10 coding.
- Collaborate with surgical subject‑matter experts on documentation and classification requirements.
- Conduct patient and shared decision‑making interviews or surveys.
- Produce and distribute routine reports to hospital stakeholders.




- Support timely ACS NSQIP data submissions and related deadlines.
- Prepare and distribute monthly NSQIP analytics reports.
- Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and security of all patient and hospital information.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing competing demands.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, integrity, and excellence in the workplace.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and build collaborative relationships.
- Apply strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Requirements

- Completion of a diploma or degree in health sciences, health administration, epidemiology, information management, statistics, or related programs.
- At least one year of related experience in a clinical setting (hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, clinical research, or medical records).
- Certification with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and current active membership (preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation systems.
- Experience with CIHI data, CPT and ICD‑10 coding (preferred).
- Clinical chart review and abstraction experience (required).
- Basic statistical knowledge (preferred).
