Summary
The Furniture Service Technician is responsible for furniture management. This includes moves, assembling and disassembling furniture, as well as building, tearing down, and reconfiguring workstations. This can be done for event and meeting room setups as well as office setups. Furniture management also includes assessments, inventory, and whiteboard installation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Works with relevant stakeholders to ensure furniture-related projects are completed on a timely basis.
- Responds quickly to client requests.
- Assembles, disassembles, moves, installs, and sets up furniture, including replacement of locks.
- Builds, dismantles, and re-configures workstations.
- Hangs pictures, whiteboards, and other items on the wall.
- Performs inspections on furnishings.
- Troubleshoots and completes repairs as required.
- Manages setups for meetings and events as required by the client.
- Resets, cuts, and audits locks and lockers.
- Keeps inventory of locks.
- Reviews furniture for disposal and waste diversion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant software.
- Understanding of basic assembly techniques for systems furniture.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow work plans and execute move-related projects.
- Physical ability to lift, move, set up, and install furniture and office equipment.
