Senior Product Manager, Ex-Lawyers and Attorneys
Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our product team. This role is to lead a product portfolio that shapes how lawyers practice law and makes legal services more accessible. This role is available to candidates across the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) in a remote capacity. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum two days per week for our Anchor Days.
What your team does
At Clio, we are building the future of legal practice, and that requires a deep, visceral understanding of the legal profession. As a former lawyer or legal professional, your firsthand experience with the day-to-day workflows, pain points, and administrative burdens of legal work isn't just a "nice-to-have"—it's an essential qualification. Your unique insights will directly inform our product strategy, ensuring we build solutions that truly resonate with and empower our customers.
What You'll Work On
- Own a Core Product: Take accountability for a product portfolio with a direct impact on how legal work is practiced and delivered. You'll lead the strategy and roadmap for our core case management experience, a mission‑critical component of our platform.
- Transform User Experiences: Simplify legacy, form‑heavy, and multi‑tab experiences into efficient, intuitive workspaces, eliminating friction and creating "step‑function improvements" that users love.
- Drive AI‑Powered Innovation:
Use your legal domain expertise to envision how AI‑driven automation can radically simplify attorney workflows and create meaningful efficiency gains.
- Champion Product‑Led Growth: Lead with intuitive onboarding and automation solutions to make getting started and managing cases dramatically easier, driving user adoption and business growth.
- Strategic and Data‑Driven Execution: Synthesize business requirements and collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to design and deliver high‑impact features, guided by data and customer research.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership: Ship and launch features end‑to‑end, collaborating with Development, Product Design, Marketing, Sales, and Support.
What You Bring
- Prior Legal Experience: Background as a practicing lawyer, paralegal, or in a legal operations role, with a clear understanding of legal document standards, discovery processes, and litigation workflows.
- Product Management Acumen: At least 6 years of product management experience in a SaaS or B2B software environment, with a proven track record of owning and shipping mission‑critical products at scale.
- Execution and Ownership: Outcomes‑obsessed leader with proven ability to make things happen and own products throughout their lifecycle.
- Strategic & Data‑Driven Thinking: Visionary who uses qualitative and quantitative data to drive product strategy, define requirements,
and measure impact, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Collaboration: Natural collaborator who builds strong partnerships with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high‑impact features that users love.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI‑driven automation and machine learning concepts.
- Experience selecting, implementing, or managing legal technology solutions within a legal environment.
- Experience in a non‑traditional legal role, such as legal ops, legal tech consulting, or in‑house innovation.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive, equitable salary with top‑tier health benefits, dental, and vision insurance.
Hybrid work setting. Local Clions (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Dublin, Sydney) are expected to be in office a minimum of twice per week.
Flexible time off policy, with an encouraged 20 days off per year.
RRSP matching and RESP contribution.
Clioversary recognition program with special acknowledgement at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years.
Annual counseling benefit of $2,000.
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $137,500 to $161,800 to $186,100 CAD. Regional bands vary by local currency and experience.
