The engineering team turns this vision into reality.Position OverviewAs a Senior Software Application Engineer, you'll maintain, upgrade, and support the technical systems that power Warner Music Group's global operations. This hybrid role blends software engineering with site reliability engineering (SRE) and operational support, requiring technical breadth, adaptability, and a strong customer focus. You'll thrive when keeping complex systems healthy, scalable, and resilient in production.ResponsibilitiesSoftware Engineering & UpgradesWrite clean, maintainable code in Java or Python (backend)
and Angular or React (frontend)Upgrade application frameworks (e.G., Java, Angular) to keep security patches, support, and performance improvements currentDebug and resolve system errors identified by automated or manual testingReliability & MonitoringMonitor production systems and improve observability to detect and resolve issues proactivelyLead root cause analyses (RCAs) for outages and implement corrective actionsConduct performance and scalability testing, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizationsSupport & OperationsPartner with business and operations users to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issuesExecute manual workflows (e.G., data queries, AWS resource modifications, job restarts) and automate them for efficiencyParticipate in the on‐call rotation, responding to high‐priority production incidentsAutomation & Continuous ImprovementEnhance CI/CD pipelines (e.G., GitHub Actions, infrastructure‐as‐code)Contribute to and maintain team knowledge bases, runbooks, and technical documentationDrive continuous improvement through process automation and tooling enhancementsAbout You5+ years of experience in software development, ideally with Java or Python (backend) or Angular/React (frontend)Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
and writing SQL queriesEffective communicator who can bridge technical and non‐technical discussionsComfortable collaborating in distributed teams across multiple time zonesPreferred QualificationsExperience working with enterprise systems and modernizing themHands‐on experience with infrastructure‐as‐code (IaC) to manage cloud resources, ideally in AWSAbility to diagnose and resolve issues across desktop, network, and web layersExperience with on‐call, incident management, and meeting SLA commitmentsEEO StatementWMG is committed to inclusion and diversity in all aspects of our business.
