We are seeking a highly capable Corporate Administrator to take ownership of a broad range of accounting, payroll, and administrative responsibilities. This is a key role within the organization and is best suited to someone who is exceptionally organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing core back-office functions with minimal oversight.
We are looking for someone who can step in as a trusted operations partner and bring both precision and accountability to the work.
Note: Candidates based in Edmonton are strongly preferred, as this position will require in-person training and the ability to attend occasional on-site meetings locally.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including coordination with the external accountant at year-end
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Process payroll and related activities, including WCB administration, leave accrual tracking, and T4 preparation
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and issue client invoices
- Prepare and remit monthly GST filings
- Draft and maintain employee and client agreements
- Track and monitor client budgets and related administrative documentation
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date digital and physical filing systems
- Support internal administrative processes and help ensure strong financial and operational controls are maintained
Qualifications
- Proven experience in full-cycle accounting with a strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, reconciliations, payroll processes, and general corporate administration
- Experience working with external accountants, year-end support, and monthly remittances
- Strong payroll experience is required; those with experience with PayWorks will have an advantage
- Experience with accounting and ERP systems such as Sage, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics GP is required; those with expertise with QuickBooks Online will have an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required; those who also have expertise in SharePoint and Teams have an advantage
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Robust problem-solving and analytical ability
- Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage deadlines with limited supervision
- Trustworthy, discreet, and professional in handling sensitive financial and employee information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid work ethic and willingness to take ownership of the role
