Position: Grand River Regional Cancer Centre I/P Oncology Program – Posting Number: – Posted: March 19, 2026 – Hours: 11.25 hours per shift (days and nights) – Type: Part Time.

Job Summary

The oncology nurse will be involved in all aspects of the inpatient oncology program, including patient/family assessment, supportive and palliative care. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the oncology nurse will participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, quality improvement processes and will support education and research initiatives. Contributes to ensuring there is a protected environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Oncology foundations, and psychosocial oncology courses from the deSouza Institute preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year
- Minimum 1 year oncology nursing experience preferred




- Experience with administration and management of blood products, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, CVAD care and management
- Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Working with a variety of computer systems and software applications
- Participation in education and clinical training programs
- Good attendance record
- Principles of oncology and palliative care nursing and adult learning:
- Therapeutic communication techniques
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills as well as the ability to work independently
- Knowledge in patient-focused care and the needs of the oncology patient population
