Position Summary
BDO seeks a dynamic Human Resources Consultant to join our People Advisory service line. The role supports a diverse portfolio of external clients, providing ongoing and project‑based HR consulting services tailored to each organization’s unique needs. The position offers hybrid flexibility, with an expectation of in‑office presence three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality work across the HR Consulting value chain, including operational HR support, policy review and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation review and analysis, health and safety support, and legislative documentation.
- Provide employee relations and policy development expertise, applying working knowledge of employment legislation across multiple provinces.
- Participate in proposal development, preparing materials for external workshops, speaking engagements, and HR communications.
- Continuously learn and develop technical and professional knowledge, staying current with consulting services capabilities and industry trends.
- Occasionally travel locally to client sites as needed.

Qualifications
- Diploma and/or post‑secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience across the value chain, advising clients across various industries.
- Strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, WSIB, labour relations, OHSA, and pay equity audits.
- Proactive problem‑solver with a client‑first mindset, adapting quickly to changing needs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, tailoring approach to different audiences.
- Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced workplace.
- Working toward, or holding, a CHRP or CHRL designation (considered an asset).
Compensation & Benefits
Expected salary range: $60,000 – $90,000. Competitive total cash compensation, flexible perks, market‑leading personal time off policy, and wellness reimbursement.
