Overview

This position supports the Manager, IT Infrastructure Services in maintaining and operating TI Corp’s server, storage, cloud, and network infrastructure, whether delivered through the BC Government’s corporate hosting services, operated directly by TI Corp, or provided through SaaS hosted platforms to ensure secure and reliable access to business applications. The role also assists with TI Corp’s construction camera platform (SaaS and On Prem), door access control systems, SharePoint administration, SQL Server operations, and the development of technical documentation and architecture materials.

Key Accountabilities





- Helps ensure the availability and reliability of TI Corp’s server infrastructure by providing IT operational support for provisioning, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Connected Services BC (CSBC)‑managed systems, TI Corp‑managed systems operating on CSBC networks, and SaaS platforms that leverage CSBC authentication, SMTP, and firewall services.
- Initiates and oversees business needs assessments, data collection, and technology research, and analyzes and assesses options, risks, cost benefits and support requirements of various proposed solutions.
- Manages Supports daily operation of the construction camera platform SAAS and On Prem, ensuring consistent uptime and video capture.
- Manage & Monitor cloud storage for camera systems, ensuring retention, performance, and operational stability.
- Initiates backup, restore, and high availability configurations.
- Assists with MS SQL Server installation, configuration, maintenance, and high availability setups including clustering and failover.
- Leads SSL certificate requests, renewals, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Participates in Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations, including configuration support for identity providers and application onboarding.
- Provides administration and maintenance of SharePoint on-premises and SharePoint Online, including permissions and site structure.
- Creates and maintains system documentation and operational procedures.
- Develops system diagrams that reflect infrastructure layout, dependencies, and system architecture.
- Monitors infrastructure health and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Provides second tier and intermediate troubleshooting support for server, storage, SaaS, SQL Server, and SharePoint systems, ensuring timely escalation of complex technical issues.
- Ensures the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge, keep current with technological developments in server administration technology, and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.

Qualifications





- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or minimum of 5 years equivalent experience.
- Three to five years experience supporting Windows Server environments, storage systems, and cloud services.
- Two to three years Experience with MS SQL Server installation, configuration, and high availability components.
- Three to five years Experience with SharePoint administration (on Prem and online).
- Working knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, authentication services, SSL certificate handling, and SSO concepts.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across server, storage, cloud, and application layers.
- Ability to create documentation and system architecture diagrams.
- Experience in change and release management in an enterprise environment.
- Two years experience with firewall policy management in an enterprise environment
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork skills: support, collaboration, inspiration, motivation, and respectfulness.
- Proficiency in segmenting complex processes, challenges, and opportunities into smaller work units.
- Nice to have: Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Preference: Experience with Linux systems administration – 1 year.
- Preference: Python scripting for automation or tooling 1 to 3 years.
