Responsibilities Hourly Rate: $28.00/hr Position Summary: Under minimum supervision, performs warehouse worker duties. Assignments require the exercise of independent discretion, judgment and a thorough understanding of company/department policies and procedures. Employees will work both independently and as part of workgroups or teams. This position provides the labour required for the warehouse operations within the distribution centre. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Dry/Cooler Selection u2022 Perform dry/cooler selection: Accurately selecting product to be loaded on company trailers u2022 Ensure proper stop sequence and construction on all pallets/carts selected u2022 Ensure loading of product selected is in its proper place on the company trailer u2022 Responsible for load quality and reliability u2022 Put away all returns at the end of assigned shift General Responsibilities u2022 Change batteries in equipment as needed u2022 Check and evaluate work against quality standards u2022 Ensure work area is kept clean at all times u2022 Organize own work to maximize safety and efficiency. Identify and correct potentially unsafe situations and conditions u2022 Perform all other related duties as assigned Scope of Supervision and Authority u2022 Responsibilities are performed with minimum supervision and communication from the Warehouse Shift Supervisor Follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) rules and regulations. Other projects or duties as assigned.



Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: High School or equivalent experience and exceptional ability Must be able to work in a cold or freezer setting Able to repetitively lift and move heavy boxes (up to 55lbs) Warehouse experience in high-volume, food-service, distribution or logistics or equivalent experience is an asset Forklift and electric pallet jack experience is an asset Team player Good communication skills Great work ethic, high initiative, self-motivation and positive attitude Ability to multi-task, time management skills, detail-oriented Effective problem solving skills This position must pass a post-offer background check Physical Demands and Work Environment : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
