- Position Title: Associate Category Manager
- Department: Supply Chain
- Status: Full-time/Permanent
- Reports to: Director of Procurement
- Location: Mississauga, ON (On site, with 5% travel if needed)
- Base Compensation: $60,000 to $75,000
- AIP Eligibility: Eligible to participate in company bonus plan. A performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary, based on achieving Goals and Target.

Role Overview
The Associate Category Manager will help manage the buying and sourcing of materials and services to keep production running smoothly. This includes working with suppliers and other teams to get the best deals and high‑quality products, analyzing data, negotiating with vendors, and finding ways to save costs.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Materials
- Develop plans to acquire the best materials and services at the best prices.
- Analyze market trends to spot opportunities and potential risks.
- Find and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet quality and cost standards.
- Collaborate with R&D; and production to align strategies with company goals.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
- Track supplier performance to ensure expectations are met.
- Conduct reviews and audits to identify improvement areas.
- Support suppliers in improving processes to better serve the company.
Negotiation
- Negotiate prices, delivery times, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Develop strategies to secure the best deals for the company.
- Prepare contracts and agreements in line with company policies.
- Resolve supplier issues promptly and efficiently.
Cost Savings
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase savings.
- Analyze spending data to develop cost‑cutting strategies.
- Collaborate with finance and other teams to track savings and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or Supply Chain Management. MBA or certification (e.g., CPSM or CIPS) is a bonus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with analytical mindset.
- At least 3‑5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or a related area.
- Strong negotiation, data analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing is a plus.
