The Child Care Team is dynamic, supportive, and growing! Are you ready to work with a team to make a difference in children's lives? We are looking for folks who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring! Flexible shifts available during the week, Monday - Friday. Hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm.

- Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y’s values
- Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
- Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Actively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner and homework helper
- Support implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
- Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards)
- Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children’s health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)*
- Experience working with children
- Valid class 4 operator’s license (is an asset)
- Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
- Commitment to Mission, Vision and Values: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.
- Service Orientated: Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each and every individual's YMCA experience. Creates action plans to resolve any service gap areas.
- Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interactions, listens attentively and communicates effectively to create an open communication environment. Share information, best practices, and resources with colleagues.
