- Assess the current status of a given area for sustainable forest management
- Conduct forest inventory cruises, surveys and field measurement
- Conduct ongoing inspections to ensure the development of good quality forest crops
- Measure the density of crop species and the amount of competition present to determine the need for tending operations
- Monitor the effectiveness of silvicultural practices
- Supervise forest inventory cruises, surveys and field measurement
- Supervise the construction of access routes and forest roads
