Who are we?
Symmetry Commerce is a small Canadian company founded by two former Shopify employees.
Io (CCO) and Mike (CEO) worked with 100s of ecommerce businesses looking to set up new experiences on Shopify.
After years of working for Shopify they decided it was time to get closer to businesses and started the Shopify agency Symmetry Commerce.
Symmetry Commerce has one goal: Make Shopify better for everyone.
We work with businesses that need to migrate their ecommerce storefront to Shopify or improve their current experience on Shopify.
At Symmetry Commerce we offer an array of services such as:

- Theme design, development and configuration
- App development and integration design

- Shopify consultations and support
What do we need help with?
We’ve been growing the number of projects we take on and are looking for someone with experience driving projects with many stakeholders across the finish line, on time and on budget.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include:
- Identify client needs and create actionable goals
- Own the project timeline as you plan and track deliverables to ensure obligations to our clients are met or exceeded
- Work with cross-functional teams including Development, Client Stakeholders, Designers, Technology partners and leadership to coordinate smooth delivery of projects
- Manage out of scope client requests and communicate impact on project timeline and budget.
- Lead client communication through various channels (email, slack, Monday)
- Prepare meeting agendas for internal and external meetings,
lead discussion and communicate/assign action items
- Monitor cross project teams and identify opportunities for collaboration and support
- Provide ad-hoc Shopify technical and product guidance to clients
- Provide ecommerce expertise through sharing Shopify best practices and industry trends
- Build relationships at multiple levels within a client’s organization to fully understand their business and the merchant’s approach to commerce innovation
- Opportunistically grow projects and address unmet needs post launch
- Document client challenges and solutions, and provide context to influence internal teams and improve delivery of future projects
What skills and experience do we need?
- A history of managing high value web projects and delivering them on time
- Experience successfully managing cross functional projects and teams, particularly in ecommerce, software development and deployment
- Knowledge of basics of web design and development to support the gathering of requirements and building out tasks for the team.
- Experience engaging with technical and non-technical merchant stakeholders to capture requirements and desired outcomes, while managing expectations
- Ability to manage project budgets and provide financial insights to project stakeholders
- Resource allocation and planning expertise
- Exceptional writing and confident verbal presentation skills to lead communications with clients and all levels of leadership
- Proven ability to build client relationships and establish yourself as a trusted advisor who prioritizes the merchant experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously alongside internal needs, such as development of documentation, templates and project delivery techniques
- Masterful organizational skills, particularly when it comes to tracking details and communicating with teams across a variety of projects within a portfolio
- Thrives in a high impact, high performance environment
- Potential travel throughout North America to on-site meetings
What experience is an asset, but not required?
- Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies; PMP or PMI-ACP certification (or similar)
- Experience with Monday (project management platform)
- Experience working in an agency environment
- Experience with Shopify

Shopify Project Manager
Compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000
- This is a full time position, but there are part time and contract opportunities available as well
- Fully covered comprehensive benefits after 3 months of employment
- This is a remote position, but you must be based in Canada
- The salary offered will be based on the length and relevance of the candidate's work history and the skills developed through their professional experience
