Come join us! Due to an upcoming retirement, we are hiring a Permanent, Full Time Maintenance Worker 2 (Electrician).

This is a union job (CUPE), day shifts Monday to Friday.

Pay Grid: $32.80 - $33.69/hour

Reporting to the Director, Physical Plant & Grounds at RVH, the Maintenance Worker 2 (Electrician) will be responsible for electrical work and may also be tasked with general maintenance duties (encompassing mechanical, plumbing, upkeep of building, general repairs, etc.) as part of the team.

You would join our experienced Physical Plant and Grounds team, who take pride in our beautiful facility which is very well maintained.

Qualifications:

- Grade XII.
- Proof of 309A Red Seal Electrical License




- Able to follow technical instructions, blueprints and detailed specifications.
- Leadership and mentoring skills to support team members in acquiring knowledge and skills to support the effective operation of the department.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite including email and outlook calendar.
- Mechanical aptitude necessary for emergency repairs to critical equipment
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, volunteers and vendors
- Must be able to take charge of work assigned and complete assignments in a timely manner with limited supervision.
- Ability to perform duties within the physical demands of the work area.
- Ability to work all shifts occurring on posted schedules including on-call.
