Job Profile

The Mechanical Technologist performs design and drafting tasks on a range of products and custom builds. Provide general engineering support to planning, purchasing, and tradespeople to ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities
Assist with engineering design of parts
Prepare documentation necessary files for purchasing and production
Execute change orders on drawings utilizing computer programs such as Inventor, Vault Manufacturing, and AutoCAD
Create manufacturing methods and procedures
Remain informed of technological developments
Display flexibility and creativity in dealing with scheduling and other complex issues
Field service support,



quality assurance for underground assembly, and commissioning

Necessary Qualifications
B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – OR – Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma – OR – CAD/CAM Technologist Diploma
Four years of experience working with 2D and 3D modelling software

Helpful Qualifications
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and/or Epicor ERP
Experience with steel forming, cutting, welding, machining, and/or manufacturing
General Mine Safety Awareness (GMSA) certification

Wage
Dependent on a combination of skills, education and work experience.
