Our client, a Toronto-based private investment platform operating in a family office–style structure, is seeking a Senior Manager or Director of Tax to join their growing team, depending on experience level. This is a senior, high-impact role reporting directly to the CFO, with broad exposure across a diverse investment portfolio spanning real estate, private equity, and capital markets.

This position will play a critical role in shaping and executing the firm’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance across complex structures, and acting as a key advisor on transactions and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

n

- Lead all aspects of tax planning, structuring, and compliance across a multi-entity investment platform
- Provide tax advisory support on acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions, including structuring for tax efficiency
- Oversee corporate, partnership, and trust tax filings, working closely with external advisors where applicable
- Manage and optimize legal entity structures across domestic and cross-border investments
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on strategic tax initiatives and risk management
- Review and enhance internal processes related to tax reporting, provisions,



and documentation
- Act as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities
- Mentor and provide oversight to junior team members as the function grows

Qualifications:

n

- CPA designation required; completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or equivalent strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally beginning in Big 4 / Big 6 public accounting
- Experience supporting private investment firms, real estate platforms, or complex multi-entity structures
- Robust technical expertise in Canadian tax, with exposure to cross-border and international tax considerations
- Proven ability to advise on transaction structuring and tax-efficient investment strategies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with senior stakeholders
