This is an onsite role, working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and senior leadership to support accurate financial reporting and drive solid business performance.

Position Overview
n
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will have deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership capability, and extensive experience in costing in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a CPA with IFRS knowledge, has strong analytical skills, and brings proven experience in month-end close, full‑cycle accounting, costing, inventory budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Candidates must have experience in the food manufacturing or CPG industries.

Hands‑on SAP knowledge will be strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
n
Financial Reporting & Month‑End Close
n
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
Manufacturing & Cost Controln
- Manage standard costing, WIP and finished goods valuation.
- Analyze production variances with Plant Managers.
Full‑Cycle Accountingn
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Maintain cost accounting structures and support product costing and inventory valuations.
- Review AP, AR, and payroll entries for accuracy and compliance.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysisn
- Lead annual budgeting and recurring forecasting processes.
- Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
- Present results, trends, and risk/opportunity assessments to leadership teams.
Leadership & Collaborationn
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
- Collaborate onsite with operations managers, plant leadership, and project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, controls, financial systems, and reporting.
Systems & Toolsn
- Utilize SAP for general ledger, costing, and project reporting.
- Enhance system utilization for automation, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity across financial and production systems.

Requirements Of the Position
n
Qualifications
n
- CPA designation required (must be in good standing with CPA Ontario. This will be verified prior to presentation to client).
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing food production, consumer goods, or contract manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (experience in transitioning from ASPE to IFRS is an asset).
- Proven experience in financial reporting, full‑cycle accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ability to articulate costing methodologies used in manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, influence, and collaborate across functions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast‑paced, high‑growth manufacturing environment.
