Our client, a well‑established and reputable Financial Services company located in North York, is seeking a detail‑oriented Investment Accountant to join their growing Finance Department. This role offers the prospect to work with a diverse portfolio of investments while supporting key accounting, financial reporting, and tax processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of investment products and related accounting treatments.

Requirements

- CPA designated or actively pursuing
- Prior work experience in the Enterprise Division of a Public Accounting Firm is a strong asset.
- Understand investment accounting transactions and investment income for bonds, stocks, mutual funds,
limited partnerships, etc.
- Able to do investment accounting: to book the entries for transactions during year for various investment types mentioned above
- Able to do the same with portfolios held in other currencies beside CAD (mostly USD)
- Understand tax forms: ideally Canadian and US Tax Forms
- Able to reconcile accounting income and taxable income of investment portfolios
- Able to fill in investment related schedules in tax return.
- Know what types of reports/slips to get from brokers
