What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Analysis

n

- Prepare month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Lead high‑level variance analysis, identifying trends, cost drivers, and operational impacts.
- Present financial results and insights to senior leadership, project managers, and operations teams.
- Assist in developing forecasts, budgets, and ongoing financial performance tracking.
- Prepare working papers and reconciliations to support internal and external reporting requirements.

General Accounting

n

- Complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare GST and PST returns and ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Review and approve job cost adjustments, ensuring proper allocation and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized working papers for audits, reviews, and regulatory filings.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to information requests, and ensuring completeness of documentation.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting quality.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

n

- Participate in meetings with senior management, operations, project management, and other internal teams to provide financial insight and support business decisions.
- Develop strong working relationships across the organization to ensure accurate project reporting and cost control.
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.

What You’ll Bring

- CPA designation or working toward CPA (highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, variance analysis, and full‑cycle accounting.
- Experience within construction, project‑based environments, or industries with complex cost structures is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and interact confidently with senior and operations leaders.
