We are looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join our growing boutique medical communications agency. The position is for a 12-month contract.

About the Role

n

As a Sr. Medical Writer your specific responsibilities may include:

n

- Providing strategic recommendations in developing agendas for various types of meetings and events including advisory boards, symposia, training meetings, investigator meetings,



and results meetings
- Support and/or lead development of content including slides for PowerPoint presentations, workshop materials, and elements of interactivity (virtual and live events)
- Developing reports that synthesize feedback and discussions of facilitated workshops and meetings
- Researching and summarizing scientific literature (e.g., literature reviews)
- Writing content for posters and abstracts
- Leading the medical writing activities supporting development and submission of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Act as the primary scientific point-of-contact for clients and other key stakeholders, such as Health Care Professionals (HCPs), in collaboration with various types of learning programs, meetings, and workshops
- Review and oversee the work of junior medical writers and freelancers and provide constructive feedback
- Act as a mentor to junior staff
- Travel to client meetings, congresses, etc. 4–5 times per year within Canada, the US, and/or Europe

What You Need To Succeed In This Role:

n

- MSc, or other advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD)
- 2+ years of medical writing experience in a medical communications agency setting OR
- 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries




- Strong understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
- Priority will be given to candidates specifically with expertise and experience in neurology and psychiatric disorders
- Ability to critically analyze and synthesize complex scientific information
- Exceptional writing skills to convey messages and develop effective scientific and medical narratives
- Strong editing and proofing skills
- Ability to effectively work on multiple projects at the same time and to appropriately prioritize work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team to execute deliverables within stated timelines
- Proficiency in MS Office with excellence in PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of using LLM-based AI tools, such as ChatGPT, with a firm understanding of their strengths and limitations for use in day-to-day tasks
- Good decision-making and interpersonal skills
