SUMMARY

This role supports secure and efficient plant operations by assisting operators with polymer milling, material handling, loading and unloading logistics, equipment checks, and general housekeeping while following all safety procedures. The position requires hands-on work with tools and equipment, use of basic computer systems, and the ability to work a rotating continental 12‑hour shift.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE

n

OPERATIONS & MATERIAL HANDLING

n

- Assist operators running a polymer mill and monitor equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, railcars, and barges.
- Lift and handle materials, tools, and supplies by hand or forklift.
- Use powered tools such as hand tools, shovels, jackhammers, and mixers.
- Conduct pre-operational equipment checks.

SAFETY, HOUSEKEEPING & SYSTEM USE

n

- Follow safe work procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Use computer platforms for truck scale tickets, safety checks, and process data entry.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
- Work a rotating continental 12-hour shift.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

n

- High school diploma; plus 1+ years' related experience in a similar role.
- Industrial production experience is an asset.
- Detail orientated. Able to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Open/closing large gate valves.
- Strives to maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Comfortable working with data input on computers accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with flexibility.




- Ability to interact effectively with other members of the team.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Expected Pay: $26.45/hour
- Benefits, and other additional compensation premiums are in accordance with the GIP Materials Engineering, a division of GIP Paving Inc. and UNIFOR Local 4266
