Internship OverviewIBAO is hiring a paid Events & Engagement Intern for a six-month hybrid role supporting registration, event coordination, and engagement initiatives — including contributing to the planning cycle for IBAOcon, one of Canada’s largest industry events.
n
This role is ideal for recent grads or final semester students in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or Communications who want real experience and a chance to build their skills in a fast-moving events environment.

Work Environment & Compensation
n
This is a hybrid internship based in Toronto, with two in‑office days per week, plus additional on‑site days leading up to major events and engagement initiatives. The role is paid hourly, with compensation details shared with shortlisted candidates.

What You’ll Work OnRegistration & Attendee Support (Primary Focus)
n
- Monitor event registration and maintain data accuracy
- Respond to attendee inquiries (email + phone)
- Support registration system setup and updates
- Assist with attendee communications and FAQs
- Track trends and flag issues to the Events & Engagement Manager
n
Event Planning & Engagement Support (Secondary Focus)
n
- Assist with planning documents and logistics
- Support industry engagement initiatives
- Conduct supplier outreach and gather quotes
- Provide on site support for select events, including IBAOcon
n
You’ll gain exposure to event operations, project coordination, supplier communication, and the behind the scenes work that brings major events to life.

What You’ll Gain

- A recent grad or student in Events, Hospitality, Marketing, or Communications
- Organized, curious, and comfortable learning new tools
- A strong communicator who enjoys working with people
- Able to work in office twice a week, with flexibility for additional days during peak periods
