They are hiring for an Accounts Receivable & Collections Accountant for their Waterloo location.

Your New Role
n
This is a newly created Accounts Receivable & Collections Accountant role, driven by ongoing business growth. The position offers broad exposure across core accounting processes, with a primary focus on accounts receivable and collections, alongside supporting responsibilities across accounts payable and month-end activities.

Key responsibilities include
n
- Managing Accounts Receivable with an emphasis on collections across both large enterprise customers and smaller independent clients
- Communicating professionally with customers by phone and email to resolve overdue balances
- Reviewing credit limits, monitoring aged receivables, and preparing AR aging reports for management
- Ensuring timely and accurate customer billing and statement generation through Microsoft Business Central
- Supporting Accounts Payable activities, including invoice matching, approvals, and validation
- Assisting with month-end close processes, including reconciliations of AR, AP, inventory subledgers,
and the general ledger
- Acting as backup support for administrative and sales-related processes as needed
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and more advanced use of Microsoft Business Central

What You’ll Need to Succeed
n
- 1–2+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable (more experienced profiles are also strongly encouraged to apply)
- Confident and skilled communication skills, particularly when speaking with customers by phone
- Comfort working in a broader, hands-on accounting role, typically gained in a smaller or mid-sized organization
- Exposure to accounting processes beyond pure collections (AP, reconciliations, reporting) is an asset
- Open to industry background and education level; practical experience and attitude are key
- A steady, reliable approach with strong attention to detail and follow-through
