- Term Position: May–August (with peak hours in July & August)
- Hours of Work:
- May–June: Approximately 16-24 hours per week
- July–August: Approximately 32–40 hours per week
- Shifts will vary based on operational needs and will include evenings, weekends, statutory holidays
- Hourly Wage: $18.00/hour

Job Overview:

nThe Visitor Information Counsellor (Summer Student) supports the promotion of the Hope, Cascades & Canyons destination by providing friendly and helpful service to visitors. Working under the supervision of the Visitor Centre Manager, this role assists with day-to-day visitor services and contributes to a welcoming and informative visitor experience.n

Responsibilities:

n

- Welcome visitors to the Visitor Centre and assist with general inquiries
- Provide basic, accurate information about local attractions, services, and amenities
- Assist visitors in person, and occasionally by phone or email
- Support the maintenance of brochure racks, displays, and general organization of the Visitor Centre
- Assist with recording visitor statistics and basic data entry
- Process simple retail transactions as required
- Participate in community outreach activities and events, including mobile visitor services and local festivals
- Support event setup, attendance, and teardown as directed




- Maintain a general awareness of community events and tourism offerings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Visitor Centre Manager or Executive Director

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must adhere to dress code, including wearing “Hope, Cascades and Canyons” attire
