*The position is based at the head office in Montreal or Sherbrooke*
Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent will participates in all aspects of Groupe Dermapure's accounting and financial operations and ensures that reliable, relevant and timely financial information is provided.
Responsibilities -
Management of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements as part of the external audit while ensuring compliance with accounting standards (ASPE), procedures and deadlines.
- Act as a business partner and reference in accounting and finance for management, clinics and other departments.
- Collaborate in the preparation of various accounting and operational documents.
- Prepare management reports and analyses and requests for specific reports.
Management of the accounting cycle
- Perform transaction entry to accounting systems
- Produce various financial analyses and general ledger reconciliations, including gross margin, operating expenses, variances and inventory cost analyses.
- Produce reports to analyze the company's performance as well as key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and submit the various government remittances and reports within the prescribed deadlines.
- Assist in sales tax and corporate income tax audits with government authorities.
- Assist in the documentation of the year-end audit.
Internal Controls and Accounting Processes
- Participate in the implementation, documentation and updating of tools,
processes and procedures in order to improve the effectiveness of operations, the efficiency of the accounting team and the quality of financial information, in particular by maximizing the use of accounting or point-of-sale systems.
- Participate in special projects and other analyses, when required.
Qualifications -
- Bachelor's degree in accounting;
- Hold a skilled accounting (CPA) designation;
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position;
- Bilingual (French/English) both written and spoken;
- Advanced knowledge in Excel;
- Knowledge of the Acumatica accounting system (an asset);
- Knowing how to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment;
- Be able to handle pressure, priorities and peak periods;
- Have a rigorous, detail-oriented analytical mind;
- Demonstrate a team spirit and collaboration;
- Demonstrate autonomy, initiative and creativity to solve problems.
