Our client is a well-established and cutting-edge manufacturing organization looking to add a CNC Machinist to their team — someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into a CNC Programming role over time.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys the technical side of machining and wants to take the next step into programming, process improvement, and advanced manufacturing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes – 2, 3, and multi-axis)
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Support CNC program adjustments and optimization alongside senior programmers
- Assist with machine setup, tooling selection, and calibration
- Perform test runs and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues
- Collaborate with programming and quality teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across machining processes
- Maintain clear documentation for setups, tooling, and processes
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes)
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Solid understanding of machining fundamentals (feeds, speeds, materials)
- Experience with machine setup and operation
- Exposure to CNC programming or CAD/CAM (GibbsCAM or similar) is an asset — not required
- Familiarity with Fanuc or Okuma controls is an asset
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Interest in growing into a CNC Programmer role
Nice-to-Have (But Not Required)
- Exposure to CAD/CAM software
- Experience with process documentation or quality standards (FAI, PPAP)
- Knowledge of fixture design or work-holding strategies
- Lean manufacturing exposure (5S, Six Sigma, SMED)
- ERP experience (e.g., ProShop)
