About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the HRBP provides proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented support in all facets of Human Resources. As a skilled generalist, the HRBP approaches all work through the lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and community impact. Using sound judgement, the HRBP provides valuable support, coaching, guidance, and strategic partnership to leaders within an assigned client group. This role is focused on enhancing employee experience, strengthening organizational culture while driving solid organizational outcomes. The HRBP builds strong relationships across the People & Culture team and the broader organization to advance organizational effectiveness and mission delivery.

Responsibilities:

- Develop a strong understanding of the needs of internal clients and program areas to provide strong consultative support on a variety of Human Resources issues, as a valued strategic partner.
- Partner with leaders to implement effective and sustainable people and talent management strategies, including workforce planning, organizational design, total rewards, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development.
- Facilitate and support the process of evaluating new positions and assessing positions submitted for classification review.




- Provide talent acquisition advice and support recruitment processes, with a focus on attracting mission-aligned, diverse talent, for senior level and leadership roles.
- Interpret and advise on policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment, and relevant legislative frameworks.
- Support and participate in cross‑functional HR projects and initiatives focused on recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and talent development.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR Coordinator(s) through regular coaching, performance feedback, and development support to enhance HR service delivery.
- Consult with leaders on all aspects of performance development and management including coaching, goal setting, performance planning, and performance management.
- Support and facilitate exit interviews, value stream reviews, team development initiatives, employee focus groups, conflict resolution discussions and immigration/work permit support and tracking.
- Conduct workplace investigations, producing high-quality, legally sound reports and recommendations, including strategies to restore and strengthen team dynamics.
- Support leaders with interpreting employee experience survey results and developing and implementing action plans.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a HR generalist, utilizing a business partner approach is required.
- CPHR designation is preferred.
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, program participants, staff and volunteers.
- Excellent written communication skills.
