Head of Operations
Glenora Homes Group
Remote, aligned to Alberta / Mountain Time
Glenora Homes Group is building something special in the Edmonton market. Known for time-tested quality and a custom approach to estate homes, infills, duplexes, and multifamily housing, the company combines the craftsmanship of a boutique builder with the ambition and opportunity flow of a growth-minded operator.
Now, Glenora Homes Group is hiring a Head of Operations to build the machine behind that growth.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who knows how to turn moving parts, solid personalities, and daily complexity into a clear, repeatable operating rhythm. You will work directly with the Owner / CEO to create the systems, cadence, accountability, and structure needed to help the business scale with less chaos, fewer bottlenecks, and less owner firefighting.
Why this role matters
Glenora has opportunity, momentum, and vision. What it needs now is an operator who can create consistency across construction, office coordination, leasing, and property operations.
The mission of this role is to build and run a systematic, repeatable, predictable operating machine that allows the company to:
- deliver standard multifamily projects in a repeatable flow
- reduce chaos, rework, excuses, and last-minute intervention
- coordinate construction office, site, and property operations
- improve team accountability through systems, not memory
- free the owner to focus on land, capital, investor relationships, partnerships, and growth opportunities
This is a true operating leader role for someone who can stay above the scramble, see where the machine is slipping, create clarity fast, and install the systems and follow-through that keep the business moving.
What you'll own
As Head of Operations, you will build and maintain the company's operating system across construction and related functions. You will oversee project flow from pre-construction readiness through completion and make sure the field, office, and support teams are working on one shared rhythm.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and enforcing schedules, checklists, SOPs,
handoff systems, and accountability rhythms
- Overseeing project flow across construction, coordination, and property operations
- Creating weekly production visibility for every active project
- Monitoring KPIs and building an operational scoreboard leadership can trust
- Catching issues early when something is off schedule, off process, off budget, or unclear
- Driving immediate action and same-week corrective responses
- Running root-cause reviews and implementing "Never Again" fixes
- Supporting hiring, onboarding, and role clarity for key operational positions
- Coaching the team toward ownership, clarity, and follow-through
- Translating the owner's vision into disciplined execution without becoming a bottleneck
What success looks like
You will be winning in this role when:
- projects run through systems, schedules, checklists, and scoreboards instead of memory and firefighting
- active jobs have visible milestone tracking and recovery actions
- trade sequencing improves and site clashes decline
- repeat failures trigger real process changes
- the team becomes more self-accountable
- the owner is no longer pulled into routine site-level conflicts and scheduling breakdowns
- the company moves toward a stable build rhythm with standard 8-plex projects trending toward a repeatable 120-150 day execution window
The environment you'll step into
This is a remote leadership role aligned to Alberta / Mountain Time, leading a team of roughly 12 people across construction, construction office, finance/admin, and property management. Current operations include a mix of field leadership, project coordination, permitting, inspections, trade scheduling, finance support, bookkeeping, and property management/leasing.
The business is aiming for stronger build flow, better coordination, and the capacity to absorb more opportunity without increasing chaos.
Who you are
You are a builder of systems and execution rhythm.
You are highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and direct without drama. You know how to create accountability without babysitting. You are allergic to excuses, fast at creating clarity, and strong enough to work with driven personalities while keeping everyone aligned to shared goals and standards.
You likely bring experience from one or more of the following environments:
- residential or multifamily construction
- general contracting
- trades operations
- manufacturing
- field service or other production-based operations
Direct homebuilding or multifamily experience is a plus, but the bigger requirement is a proven track record of turning inconsistent operations into a well-run machine.
What you've likely done before
Strong candidates will be able to show evidence that they have:
- built SOPs, dashboards, checklists, handoff systems, and meeting rhythms
- improved schedule reliability and reduced cycle times
- tightened coordination across teams with multiple moving parts
- improved cost control or reduced waste, delays, rework, and missed handoffs
- reduced dependence on a founder or senior leader for day-to-day rescue work
- installed accountability through clarity, cadence, scoreboards, and ownership
- solved recurring problems by fixing root causes instead of repeatedly putting out fires
Why join Glenora Homes Group
This is an opportunity to step into a true builder-operator role inside a company with real momentum. Glenora Homes was founded to bring the systems and competitive strength of a larger builder together with the craftsmanship and personal touch of a more exclusive custom builder.
If you are the kind of operator who loves turning complexity into clarity, building the machine behind the vision, and helping a growing company scale without losing standards, this role will give you the chance to make a visible impact.
