Job Summary
nWe are currently seeking an Automation/Controls Technologist. In this role you will design, implement, and maintain control systems/equipment for our diverse clients. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to ensure smooth and safe operation of automated equipment. Your work will improve efficiency, quality, and safety across client processes, while giving you opportunities to contribute to innovation and system upgrades.n
Key Responsibilities
n
- Design, program, and maintain PLC control systems using Control Expert (Schneider Electric).
- Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot industrial networks, including CANopen, Modbus, and Modbus TCP protocols.
- Develop and maintain HMI and SCADA software for production automation.
- Design, read, and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Perform hands-on wiring of electrical equipment, including control enclosures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize processes and ensure operational excellence.

Skill and Trade Qualifications
n
- Solid troubleshooting skills in automated production systems.
- PLC programming experience, including Control Expert (Schneider Electric).
- Knowledge of CANopen, Modbus, and Modbus TCP communication protocols.
- HMI and SCADA software experience.
- Ability to design, read,
and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with wiring electrical equipment and control enclosures.
- Experience with C# for embedded applications is an asset.
- Embedded hardware and firmware design experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
nEducation & Experiencen
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certification or vocational training
- 2–3 years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
n
- Manufacturing or shop-floor environment
- Standing for extended periods; lifting and handling materials as required
- May involve shift work or overtime based on production needs
n
Position Information

- Monday to Friday
- Full-time
- Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation
- Travel may be required in the Edmonton Area
- JM Certification is must!
- Must be a local resident to the Edmonton and Surrounding area
