The A220 commercial aircraft program is seeking a Design & Integration Qualified – Fuselage Structures, Door Mechanisms and Compliance to join our Fuselage & Doors Design team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work closely with fuselage design teams, stress analysis, materials and processes, the Program team, final assembly line support, and many others.

You will be part of the Fuselage and Doors structures team responsible for developing innovative solutions for long-term product improvements, supporting the final assembly line and in-service aircraft, while ensuring regulatory compliance of the product.

Your role as a designer-integrator will be to lead trade studies, develop technical solutions, present them at various reviews, and modify and approve engineering documents (2D, 3D, reports).

Key Responsibilities
n
- Conduct a trade study on door infrastructure types, document the investigation, generate reports, and develop concepts and 3D models of mechanisms, structures, and system installations.
- Produce an engineering cost impact analysis for design, collect costs from engineering functions, and enable the collection of cost impact data for all stakeholders involved in the project.
- Demonstrate project management skills for change projects led by your group.
- Collaborate closely with DAD, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capability guidelines.
- Communicate and arbitrate between various MFT functions such as stress analysis, systems, manufacturing, structure suppliers, program office, logistics, and quality to develop new designs and resolve issues.
- Manage priorities, ensure adherence to change management plans, and implement recovery plans to meet deadlines.
- Work to reduce non-quality, analyze root causes, and improve efficiency within your sector and across the organization.

Required Profile
n
- You hold a bachelor’s degree, a college technical diploma in engineering or aerospace, or equivalent, and have relevant experience in the design and manufacturing of aerospace doors.
- You have solid knowledge of aerospace product regulations, particularly CAR 525.783.
- You are action-oriented and have a continuous improvement mindset.
- You have excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- You demonstrate leadership, sound judgment, flexibility, initiative, and are able to work with minimal supervision.
- You have a strong sense of commitment, are able to meet tight deadlines, and possess a sense of urgency.
- You have strong knowledge of aircraft doors and structures, compliance, detailed design (sheet metal, machined parts, mechanisms, and component assembly), system installation, configuration management principles, design for manufacturing, weight control, cost and schedule considerations.
- You are proficient in CATIA design software and the Google Suite.
- You are proficient in English (advanced level, both spoken and written) and understand French.
