POSITIONSUMMARY:

nThis position is located in St Thomas, and requires frequent travel to provide services throughout the entire county of Elgin. The main focus is to support families and caregivers to promote the mental health of their infant and preschool-age children, primarily through the delivery of Circle of Security and associated programs and approaches.n

The Group Coordinator is responsible for the direct provision, development, and supervision of parent group programs.

PROGRAMDEVELOPMENT:

n

- Ensures the effective planning and delivery of specific Merrymount Group Programming in St Thomas-Elgin, within the scope determined by the Program Manager, and including identification of appropriate locations for group programming throughout the county.
- Actively build and maintain relationships with relevant organizations and key contacts in the St Thomas-Elgin area.
- Completes written client reports as necessary, in accordance with agency procedures and with appropriate consent, and ensures that these are forwarded to other agencies and professionals as requested.
- Prepares quarterly reports on programs, participation data, etc., for submission to the Program Manager.
- Facilitates a specified number of groups per year as determined by the Program Manager




- May assume some case management responsibilities for parents in groups who do not receive these services from Merrymount or other agencies. This may include intervening in cases where the need for additional support, crisis intervention, or emergency measures is evident. Gathers appropriate consents for referrals. Completes documentation in EMHWare.
- When requested, and with appropriate consents in place, participates in client case reviews, providing observations, suggestions, advice, and consultation.
- Participates in the development of short and long-range goals and objectives for this program, consistent with the Agency mandate, policies, and directions.
- Will act as the liaison with all parents and referral sources requesting parent group program services, to assist them in determining what program will best match their needs.
- In consultation with the Program Manager, will advise on the scope of programs offered and identify service gaps.
- Upon identifying service gaps, will propose the development of programs to fill the gaps.
- Will be responsible for the data management and computer input of any client statistics relevant to their involvement in parent groups.
- Will ensure all students, childminders and/or other support staff are kept current with regard to all personnel matters.




- Will approve the payment of hours of work provided by childminders and/or other support staff, ensuring that hours remain within budget and that time sheets provided by childminders and/or other support staff are accurate.

nChildminders, and/or other support staff. Selects, oversees the work of these staff, undertakes disciplinary action as required, processes Step #1 of the grievance process, completes performance objectives and appraisals, and recommends workers on probation to permanent status and for termination.n

- Completes childminding/support staff scheduling, accesses, and arranges for additional childminding.
- Supervises student placements, including Child & Youth Worker and Social Service Worker, and other relevant fields of study. This includes the assignment of tasks, establishing goals and objectives, performance reviews, and evaluations.

nVolunteers within the delivery of a parent program or childminding service.n

OTHER:

- Participates in internal and external committees, work groups, and other bodies as a representative of Merrymount as assigned.
- Attends and participates as directed in program team, supervisory, Leadership Team, and or Board meetings as requested.
