Role Description

n

This is a full time, on-site role for a Mechanical Designer, located in Lively, ON. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating technical drawings, developing machine designs, utilizing SolidWorks, and applying practical, effective mechanical solutions.

Prerequisites

n

- Currently resides in the Greater City of Sudbury or within reasonable driving distance (all candidates not from the Sudbury area will automatically be disqualified)
- Minimum 3-year diploma in a Mechanical Engineering Technology program from a recognized Canadian college.




- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design of mechanical equipment or industrial automation equipment.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada at the time of application. This position does not offer immigration or work permit sponsorship.
- Possession of valid passport.
- Fluent in English.
- Possession of valid G-license.

Qualifications

- Is competent with the design of industrial machinery.
- Has working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Has working knowledge of commercially available industrial materials and components.
- Is proficient in the preparation of manufacturing drawings.
- Is proficient in the application of GD&T; on manufacturing drawings.
- Is proficient in the application of practical machine component fits.
- Is proficient with the design of weldments.
- Is fluent in SolidWorks with knowledge of SolidWorks weldments, assemblies and PDM.
- Is fluent in AutoCAD.
- Has experience in machine assembly or servicing.
- Has working knowledge of basic design calculations.
