About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation. Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

The Senior Resource Geologist is a key technical leader responsible for delivering high quality geological and resource models that support strategic planning, operational decision-making, and long-term resource confidence. This role will provide advanced technical expertise in 3D modelling, resource estimation, data validation, and reconciliation, while also mentoring junior staff and helping build team capability.

The Senior Resource Geologist will report to the Chief Geologist and will play a critical part in enabling reliable model and production performance.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Be a courageous safety leader and consistently adhere to—and sponsor—safety and environmental rules, procedures, and best practices.
n
- Foster a work culture that prioritizes psychological safety, inclusiveness, respect, and open communication.

- Validate, clean, and interpret geological data from drilling, mapping, sampling, and operational sources.
n
- Develop, refine, and maintain 3D geological and resource models that support medium- and long-term planning.
n
- Lead the creation, documentation, and reporting of Resource Estimates in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
n
- Conduct and/or oversee reconciliation processes, interpret model variances, and recommend model or data improvements.
n
- Identify geological and data related risks affecting resource classification, mine planning, or production.
n
- Develop strategic drill programs to support resource and reserve confidence, reduce uncertainty, and improve operational predictability.
n
- Mentor and support junior modelers to grow team capability and knowledge.
n
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows, streamline data processes, and improve modelling efficiency.
n
- Collaborate with cross functional groups including mine planning, exploration, mine engineering, geotechnical,



and metallurgy.

Qualifications

n

n
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant geoscience experience, with a strong track record in geological and resource modelling.
n
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation in good standing.
n
- Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geostatistics, or a related field; MSc or PhD is considered an asset.
n
- Strong technical understanding of Porphyry copper systems and associated geological controls.
n
- Advanced expertise in geological data validation, interpretation, and spatial modelling.
n
- Proficiency in Leapfrog and Vulcan modelling software (additional software experience considered an asset).
n
- Highly organized, results oriented, and skilled in planning, decision-making, and leading complex technical work.
n
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse technical teams.
n
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

nPay Range: CAD $119,000 - $147,000 per year The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.n

Working Conditions:

- Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.

- Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
