Job Description
The WTP Plant Operator is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), supporting water processes for the two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) and associated surface equipment. This position requires technical skill in WTP operations and the ability to work safely within pressurized environments.
The Operator works closely with TBM crews including the TBM Foreman, Grout Operator, TBM Pilot, and shift management (Shift Superintendent, Shift Engineer, or Shift Manager), to ensure smooth operations and continuous, safe tunnel advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Shift Manager regarding inventory status and stock requirements.
- Manage the unloading of products and ensure delivery tickets are accurately recorded in the system
- and communicated to the Shift Manager and/or Store Manager.
- Operate the Water Treatment Plant safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with the TBM Pilot, TBM Foreman,
and Surface Foreman to ensure proper and accurate water treatment quality.
- Collaborate with the Plant Team to support accurate and timely maintenance activities.
- Communicate and coordinate with shift management to support operational needs.
- Inspect the WTP after each shift to identify mechanical issues, wear, or safety concerns.
- Perform system cleaning as required.
- Operate and manage pressurized lines safely.
- Assemble and maintain pipework systems.
- Use high‑pressure washing equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space requirements, and emergency response guidelines.
- Document daily activities, equipment performance, and any incidents or irregularities.
- Support general TBM operations as needed, maintain a clean working area, and complete housekeeping tasks.
