Summary The Packaging Mechanic diagnoses packaging equipment problems, repairs minor and major breakdown of high-speed packaging equipment, sets up and installs all packaging equipment, performs preventative maintenance items, improves line efficiencies, and ensures all equipment is in secure working condition.

Key Responsibilities Has thorough knowledge of all equipment and can identify all equipment in the work area.

Ensures the capability of efficient operation of all equipment in the work area, by using preventative maintenance,

troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing equipment to achieve operational goals.

Maintains logs and paperwork for each shift as needed and ensures the accuracy of data reporting systems such as the Maintenance Daily Logs and Work Order forms.

Typical Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Relevant Experience Must have a minimum of two years of maintenance experience and certification as an Industrial Mechanic (millwright).

Must have the ability to read and understand plant and equipment manuals, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), instructional manuals, and mechanical blueprints.

Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.

Must have strong aptitude for safe work practices.

Required Certifications Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
