We are currently seeking an experienced Packer Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll operate packers and steamrollers to ensure soil and gravel are properly compacted for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate packers to compact soil and gravel on construction sites
- Assist with grading and excavation activities when needed
- Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure safe operation
- Follow all safety guidelines and ensure that others on-site are following procedures
- Perform daily equipment checks and report any issues to the supervisor
- Work with the rest of the crew to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Ensure the job site is maintained in a safe and organized manner
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience operating packers or other similar equipment
- Commercial excavation experience preferred
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols
- Ability to operate other heavy machinery, such as bulldozers or excavators, is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities
Pay and Benefits:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Hourly wage: CA$28 to CA$36 (depending on experience)
- Paid Time Off (PTO): 2 weeks per year
- Prospect for overtime pay
