Compensation: $20-$23 per hour

The Opportunity

We are hiring for the 2026 season, with positions available from spring through fall. Hours build through April and May and reach full volume through the summer and into October.

The Wine Educator is a guest-facing role responsible for delivering an outstanding tasting room experience. This position is central to our direct-to-consumer operations, guiding guests through tasting flights, supporting retail wine sales, and representing the Peak Cellars brand with confidence and professionalism.

supported by close collaboration across hospitality, culinary, production, and events teams.

What You'll Do

- Welcome and engage guests at the tasting bar in a professional and genuine manner, establishing rapport and understanding their interests and needs
- Guide guests through structured tasting flights, providing informed context on estate origin, vintage story, tasting notes, and food and garden pairings for each wine
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all Peak Cellars and O'Rourke Family Estate wines, including varietals, winemaking practices, and vineyard story
- Present wine club membership options to guests in an informed and natural manner; actively support membership growth targets
- Support retail wine sales by assisting guests with bottle selections, processing transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system, and packaging purchases for travel
- Accurately capture guest contact information and preferences in Commerce7
- Contribute to the setup, execution, and breakdown of Premium Seated Tastings, Goldie Block Vineyard Tours, and winery events as scheduled
- Assist with the daily operations of the tasting room, including maintaining appropriate wine and merchandise inventory levels, restocking glassware, and ensuring the bar and surrounding areas remain clean, organized, and guest-ready throughout each shift




- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and adhere to all responsible service of alcohol guidelines
- Respond to guest inquiries by phone, in person, and via reservation platforms in a timely and professional manner
- Participate in all required pre-season and ongoing training, including tasting scripts, menu and pairing knowledge, wine club conversion, and property systems (Tock, Commerce7, TouchBistro, 7Shifts)
- Support winery events and promotional activities as directed by the Tasting Room & Wine Club Manager

What You Bring

· Must be of legal age to sell alcohol in British Columbia

· Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a guest-facing role is an asset

· Strong communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner with guests and team members alike

· Ability to work weekends and peak summer periods; availability beginning in April or May is an asset

· Wine training (WSET, ISG, or equivalent), sommelier certification, or prior winery or beverage industry experience is a robust asset

· Familiarity with point-of-sale, reservation, or wine club management systems

· Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods
