We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to lead the daily operations at our Elmira childcare site. Reporting to the Director of Operation, the Supervisor is an integral part of the senior leadership team and is tasked with ensuring that all children receive exceptional care. The Supervisor plays a key leadership role, supporting staff, ensuring high‑quality program delivery, fostering positive relationships with families, and maintaining compliance with all legislative and organizational standards.

This position is a full-time permanent contract, from July 2026 - September 2027.

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and early childhood education best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Completion of a leadership or management certificate/program in ECE is considered an asset.

Main Duties Will Include:

Leadership & Supervision

- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to all site employees.
- Lead and support staff, students, and volunteers through coaching, mentorship, and consistent communication.
- Complete site-specific orientation for new hires.
- Assist with staff performance monitoring and annual evaluations.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage adjustments to meet program needs and ratios.
- Supervise non-program staff as required.

Program & Operations Management

- Oversee the implementation of programs and curriculum, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
- Support educators in creating inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
- Ensure full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements by working collaboratively with the Region of Waterloo,



Ministry of Education, Public Health, and other regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong, qualified relationships with families through open communication and exceptional customer service.
- Address concerns in a timely, respectful, and solution‑focused manner.

Administration & Compliance

- Complete and submit all required documentation, reports, and forms by designated deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee and enrollment records.
- Ensure mandatory health and safety inspections are completed and documented.
- Keep emergency plans updated, ensure staff training, and document all required drills.
- Maintain the Parent Information Board with all required regulatory postings.
- Prepare for and support all licensing inspections, addressing issues promptly.
- Conduct regular staff observations and coordinate annual performance reviews.

Financial & Resource Management

- Monitor inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Approve purchases within budget or submit requests to the Director of Operations.
- Assist with procurement of equipment and supplies to support high‑quality programming.
