Position Overview:

nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our growing and dynamic civil earthworks company based in Acheson, Alberta. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a quick-paced, hands-on environment and is comfortable managing a wide range of accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accuracy across all accounting processes.n

Responsibilities:

n

- Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, tracking payments, and maintaining customer accounts.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoice entry, approvals, and vendor payments.
- Conduct collections activities, including following up on overdue accounts and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Assist with processing payroll (ADP) ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.




- Support financial reporting and provide documentation for audits as required.
- Collaborate with operations and management teams to ensure financial alignment with project activities.

Qualifications:

n

- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, civil, or related industries.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with job costing or project-based accounting is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Proven experience with AR, AP, payroll, collections, and reconciliations.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- ADP experience is considered an asset.

- Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
